Personality Personality: Blaise is calm, cool, and collected. He is reserved and often quiet. It isn't that he is shy--far from it. He just thinks most people are not worth his breath. He is known for being in control of his emotions and temper, but also for exacting revenge on those who cross him. This is a marked difference from his youth when he was loud and rambunctious.
Special abilities/strengths/flaws: Occlumency, minor legillimency, Dark Arts. He is incredibly paranoid.
Relevant backstory: Blaise kept as low of a profile as possible during his seventh year at Hogwarts. He took the opportunities to learn Dark Arts from the Carrows and other Death Eaters, but most of the time, through shear luck and proper foresight in planning, he managed to find a way to avoid having to torture his fellow students. After Hogwarts, he studied law in the famed wizarding legal academy in Greece. During this time he made many nefarious contacts, and he quickly realized the money to be made from defending the obviously guilty. He returned to Britain years later with a sizable fortune from those he had defended. He was employed by the Wizengamot Administrative Services, where he had a much more diversified clientele as he sought to forge a public image for himself that would pave a way into politics. Over the years, his connections with the international underworld allowed him a prominent position in dealing with the black market, and he of course took the appropriate measures that the dealings would not be traced back to him.
As the years rolled on, Blaise, his wife -- Tegan, and their children (Gordon and Margaret) enjoyed the finer things in life. Tragedy struck about five years ago, when his wife was murdered while they were vacationing abroad. Blaming him for their mother's death, Gordon and Margaret left Wizarding Britain and have refused all attempts at reconciliation. Left with no family, Blaise had nowhere to turn for joy except his own wealth. And he is not going to sit around and idly watch that be taken from him to.
